Top 10 Looks of 2017

Okay, let’s cut the crap. 2017 was far from perfect. The year is over and suddenly people on Twitter are eating Tide Pods and asking North Korea to “just get the job done.” We are not ending on a high note, people.

But social media is not just for projecting the terror and angst of a generation – it’s where we observed the art of dress from the Grammy’s, Oscars, Met Gala, etc. worn by the celebrities and influencers that made such an impact on 2017 itself.

Moreover, many of these celebrities used their following to create a lasting impact by going beyond what or who they wore, instead in what they said and did.

In one last glance back at 2017, here are the best looks of the year. Happy new year!

10. Bella Hadid in Venice

AKA Aphrodite, goddess of love.

9. Stranger Things Kids at the Emmys

They may be young but these kids can master industry after industry! First television, then fashion…. What’s next?

8. Rihanna at the Valerian Premier

Buckle up, she’s in here a lot.

7. Priyanka Chopra at the Met Gala

For her first Met Gala she did a very, very good job.

6. Rihanna in Molly M. Goddard

One of the coolest looks of the year. I just wanna know where she wore this.

5. Beyonce’s Twins Photo

A cascading robe, veil, and of course two new children put a close to Beyonce’s pregnancy and along with it, her “goddess of fertility” phase, as I call it.

4. Bella Hadid in Dior

I cannot, for my life, figure out why this look was not more talked about. You can just tell she’s feeling herself. She’s a couture raindrop in a drought!

3. The Versace Runway

Even someone who has never heard of Versace, fashion, or even the seen the color gold can understand that this is an important, sacred image.

2. Zendaya at the Met Gala

Black girl magic in the high-fashion jungle.

1. Rihanna at the Met Gala

Speechless is the word here, folks. Not only knocking the theme (Rei Kowukabu: Art of the In-Between) out of the park, she left a lasting mark on the Met Gala and 2017 in general. This year will forever be known as the Year of Rihanna.
