Where did you go to school? What was your major?
I went to the University of Colorado at Boulder where I studied marketing.
Is running your NYC blog your full-time career, or just a hobby?
I actually work at The New York Times during the day, so my blog is just a hobby (for now). I hope to one day be able to make it a full-time career.
How did you start blogging?
I started blogging last year because I wanted to play with my writing, graphic design, and social media. I have always thought about having a blog, but never actually did anything with it until last year.
What’s your favorite topic to post about on your blog?
I love talking travel, fashion and skincare. I am focusing more on sustainable fashion and clean beauty in the next year because that’s what I am personally moving towards in my life. Travel is my favorite topic and I hope to bring more adventures to my blog this year, too. It just gets hard with a full-time job!
How would you describe your street style look?
I aim for classic chic, if that even makes sense! I am only 23, so I am still trying out different looks to see which I like the best.
Would you consider yourself a fashion influencer?
I wouldn’t call myself a fashion influencer, mostly because I don’t love influencer as a term. The closest label I’d put on myself is a fashion blogger.
If you would steal someone’s closet (a celebrity, icon or influencer) whose would it be?
Hanna Stefansson is my style icon of the moment.
How often do you get to travel for your blog?
Right now, I don’t travel for my blog – that is the goal though! A goal of mine is to visit 30 countries before 30 and I am 11 countries away.
What are some of your favorite travel destinations?
Italy will always have a special place in my heart because I lived in Florence for 7 months.
What’s your Instagram aesthetic?
I like neutral colors and minimal editing. I am still learning how to use Lightroom to edit my pictures and achieve that aesthetic!
Do you have any Instagram tips?
My biggest tip for Instagram is to not get wrapped up in the comparison game. The second I find myself feeling bad about myself, I quit the app. This sounds simple, but it really made an impact on my mental health surrounding Instagram.
What is your favorite photo you have ever posted?
I have a photo of myself on the Great Wall of China and that has to be my favorite, not because it’s the best photo ever taken, but because of what it represents. I traveled to Asia alone last year and it took me completely out of my comfort zone, but I learned so much from that trip and I am so happy I did it. That photo is just a reminder that good things come out of pushing outside of your limits.
Where do you hope to be in 5 years?
I hope to take a year in my late 20’s to travel around the world, blogging along the way, of course!
