Technology has been an incredible advancement within the fashion industry, allowing for amazing new concepts that create new, exciting experiences for customers when they physically enter a store. Customers have often complained of the monotonous, repetitive shopping experience. Enter: MAC and Bumble & Bumble.
MAC and Bumble & Bumble have teamed together to create a Makeup and Hair Studio, which will include an express salon specializing in blowouts and makeup application, and a retail store. The idea originated out of fashion week, where MAC makeup artists and Bumble & Bumble hair stylists often collaborated to complete the models looks.
Gustavo Andriani, MAC’s senior vice president noted that “a push for service spurred the concept, a result of what’s happening in the industry today where clients are having makeup done at home and consumers are regularly visiting express hair styling or makeup-only salons.” The trend in blowout-only salons, called dry bars, has skyrocketed, while makeup is still often applied at home. Combining the two services into one location is ideal for customers who want a professionally done look.
The first location, at Dallas’ NorthPark Center, will include four hair stations and two shampoo chairs on one side, and five MAC makeup stations on the other. The retail space is the string that ties the two brands together, allowing the customer to walk around and view products that they may wish to purchase. Included at the location will also be a personalized selfie wall, where customers can share their experience on social media channels.
The hair service menu will include:
Braids and Updos: $30 to $90
Conditioning Treatments or Color Glosses: $10.
Besides the general hair styling menu, this retail concept will also offer different packages for customers that stand out amongst the rest:
“The Quicker”: A 40-minute, $40 service that includes express makeup and
“Girls Night Out”: A blowout and full makeup application, $99.
“Red Carpet Ready”: An updo and full makeup application, $135.
“Express Makeup Application”: $30.
“Full Makeup Application”: $60.
“Lesson”: $15 to $90.
