Whole Foods Unveils its First-Ever Top Beauty and Wellness Trends

On March 7th, 2019, the Whole Foods beauty buyers and experts announced its beauty and wellness trends for the year during the fifth annual beauty week. Some of these trends include superfoods for beauty, beauty-oriented supplements, vegan cosmetics, sleep supporters and microbiome-friendly beauty products. Want to know more about these products? Well, you’re in luck, keep reading!

  1. Superfoods for beauty:

Now fan favorite superfoods are not only for eating but for your skincare and body care routines as well! These products consist of more foods that are green such as green tea, matcha, kale, and avocado. Superfood beauty products are becoming more familiar and popular to consumers. The Cotton Cupra Collection face mask set is available at Whole Foods or on Amazon and includes 5 face masks. The brightening apple brightens your skin, clarifying papaya diminishes impurities, and the soothing avocado nourishes your skin!

  1. Beauty from within

The category of beauty-oriented supplements is becoming more innovative with new products targeting consumers who want healthier skin, hair and nails. Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) are becoming increasingly popular in the beauty world right now and collagen can now be found in powder, chews and shots! The Amazing Protein Glow Chocolate Rose, is one of the many products that Whole Foods recommends to try. It is available for $32.99 from Amazing Grass; it is made from a plant-based solution to collagen and has 15g protein, plant-derived B Complex and C vitamins plus 100% DV biotin. It’s a flavorful way to nourish your skin and body, and feel confident!

  1. Vegan Cosmetics

For more than thirty years, Whole Foods has sold cruelty-free beauty products, and now the movement is picking up vegan products! Vegan or non-vegan, everyone is becoming aware of vegan cosmetics. Products are also improving heavily- becoming more pigmented and long-lasting. Some vegan brands include W3ll People, Pacifica and Au Naturale.. The picture below shows Pacifica’s Stellar Gaze Length and Strength Mineral Mascara in the color Supernova (it is also available in brown). The mascara is long-lasting, natural and nourishing for your lashes. The formula is infused with vitamin B and coconut oil to hydrate and volumize! It is available on Pacifica’s website for only $14.

  1. Sleep Supporters

Whether it’s taking a bath or putting on a relaxing face mask, everyone needs a nighttime routine. There is a large variety of products one can use for the night; aromatherapy essential oils, bath bombs, and sleep-supportive supplements. My personal favorite is aromatherapy essential oils, they are extremely relaxing and make you wanna cuddle up, watch Netflix and fall asleep. Whole Foods recommends the Frankincense Essential Oil. It is available at Sephora for $18 and it helps you feel grounded and relaxed- it also helps smooth your skin out as well! The black packaging ensures that no UV light will get in it so it is completely safe.

  1. Microbiome Friendly Beauty

The last category on Whole Foods list is microbiome friendly products that help your skin! Mother Dirt’s moisturizers that is currently on sale for $24.49. It is vegan, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, non-GMO, preservative-free and contains probiotics. This specific moisturize is made from plant-based ingredients like coconut and squalene. An amazing characteristic of this product is that it is made for all skin types!
