FIT’s campus spans one NYC block and meets fashion from corner to corner.
I decided it was time student street style was showcased on a wider basis. This past week it was Nabi Williams’ cow print bucket hat that caught my eye. Check it out below.
Name: Nabi Williams
Major: Fashion Business Management
Hometown: Virginia Beach, Virginia
Q1: How would you describe your personal style?
“Avant-garde and whimsical. I try not to label my style in any one category though, I always like trying out different styles.”
Q2: Who is your style role model/style inspiration?
“Fashion magazines (Nylon Japan, Vivi magazine, etc.) from Japan I’ve been reading since I was a pre teen! I just got back in to buying them and they’re so inspiring. I also love fashion instagrammers from Berlin such as @kickiyangz and @diln_.”
Q3: Where are key pieces from your outfit from?
“Etsy user chloelouisedesigns (Hat), Nananana (Bag), Nakedwolfe (Shoes).”
Q4: What is your favorite trend at the moment?
“The revival of the 80’s. I’m an avid 80’s music fan and being able to dress as if I lived in the time period is great — I love shoulder pads and business wear.”
Q5: Least favorite trend?
“Logos. Wearing so many of them looks soo tacky to me. I also can’t stand the early 2000’s trends.“
Q6: What is your favorite fall item you cannot wait to break out?
“I just bought a black oversized leather jacket that I’m dying to bust out. I want to look like I’m from the movie The Matrix.”
Q7: Favorite beauty look?
“Glossy lids, colorful eyebrows, anything with milk makeup tattoo stamps.”
