FIT’s campus spans one NYC block and meets fashion from corner to corner.
I decided it was time student street style was showcased on a wider basis. This past week it was Emily Qualia’s mix of textured vertical and horizontal stripes that caught my eye. Check it out below.

Q1: How would you describe your personal style?
“My personal style is eclectic. My style is a conglomeration of masculine and feminine pieces. I like to play around with different colors and textures. Rather than constantly looking for the newest trends, I look for new ways to put together the pieces I have.”
Q2: Who is your style role model/style inspiration?
“My style inspiration changes constantly, but I find myself getting inspired by iconic images and movie characters. I’m also very inspired by people I see on the street.”
Q3: Where are key pieces from your outfit from?
“Gap (Sweater), vintage store in Tucson, AZ (Trousers), custom made Nike Blazers (Shoes), Vans (Backpack)”
Q4: What is your favorite trend at the moment?
“My favorite trend at the moment is colorful, textured knitwear.”
Q5: Least favorite trend?
“My least favorite trend is skinny cat eye sunglasses. I’m ready for the next wave of eyewear.“
Q6: What is your favorite fall item you cannot wait to break out?
“I’m eager to break out my plaid overcoat this fall!”
Q7: Favorite beauty look?
“I bleached my hair recently, so my routine has shifted as a result. I love flushed cheeks, bubblegum pink lips, dark eyebrows, and blonde curly hair.”
