FIT’s campus spans one NYC block and meets fashion from corner to corner.
I decided it was time student street style was showcased on a wider basis. This past week it was Dorian Munaco’s printed top and the artwork attached to his pants that caught my eye. Check it out below.
Name: Dorian Munaco
Major: Communication Design (but is a painter)
Hometown: Sea Cliff, NY
Q1: How would you describe your personal style?
“My style might be something like disco-punk.“
Q2: Who is your style role model/style inspiration?
“I don’t necessarily have any style role models. I’m inspired by the things I see and try to be creative in the way I dress.”
Q3: Where are key pieces from your outfit from?
“I thrift the general majority of my clothing but have also been stitching and pinning my art onto my clothes.”
Q4: What is your favorite trend at the moment?
“I don’t keep very up to date on fashion, but I like that menswear has started to embrace a lot of feminine qualities.”
Q5: Least favorite trend?
“A trend I dislike is general conformity, submissiveness, and the idea that expensive clothing alone can make you ‘cool’.”
Q6: What is your favorite fall item you cannot wait to break out?
“I’m pretty into wearing jackets so that’s always exciting.”
