Social media is constantly changing the way we interpret the world around us- particularly the digital and the physical. The Untitled Space’s, “IRL: Investigating Reality,” explores what it means to be present in today’s digitally-reliant world.
Curated by gallery director Indira Cesarine, the group show features a variety of 46 artists exploring the concept of reality through different mediums like painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, videography, mixed media, installation, ceramics, and textiles.
Cesarine says, “We live in a culture so immersed in social media, it is often impossible to distinguish reality from the edited, retouched, fantasy lives led online. As we become more dependent on the digital world, we equally crave authenticity and the truth.”
“IRL: Investigating Reality” opened on June 6 runs through June 21, 2019.
The closing party is June 20th 6-8pm.
