How to Perfect the No–Makeup Makeup Look

Do you ever have an early class and are too lazy to apply a full face of makeup,
but still want to look awake? Trust me, I have been there many times and have learned to perfect the “no-makeup” makeup look. Nobody will know you had no sleep the night before. It takes around 5-8 minutes to create this look, so if you are ever in a rush or truly just lazy, this will help you out.

The no-makeup makeup look

1. Moisturizer

You should always start your makeup with a clean and moisturized base. The key to
healthy, glowy skin, is moisturizer. My favorite moisturizer that is amazing for everyday
use is Cetaphil moisturizing lotion. I also usually apply eye cream to keep my under-eyes hydrated—the one I use every morning is Belif’s Moisturizing Eye Bomb.

2. Concealer

When I am creating a no-makeup, makeup look, I usually skip foundation. I will apply
concealer to the spots that need it. For example, I will spot-conceal any pimples I have
and my under-eye dark circles. I usually use two different shades of Tarte Shape Tape Concealer—one to cover my dark circles, and a little bit of a darker one on pimples, so I don’t enhance them.

3. Powder

Next, I will apply Laura Mercier’s loose powder only to the spots I used concealer. You don’t want to put powder all over your face, otherwise it will look cake-y and dry. Then, after applying powder, I always spray Mario Badesqu’s Rose Water spray, to make the powder melt into the skin.

4. Eyebrows

After powder, I fill in my eyebrows with Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade. I
take an angled brush and fill the eyebrows as naturally as possible.

Lastly, I will curl my lashes. Then I apply Maybelline’s Falsies Push Up Angel mascara to my top and bottom eyelashes. Applying mascara will instantly widen your eyes and make you look more awake.
