The MTV VMA’s are one of the big award shows where fashion and beauty rule. It’s less about who actually wins the awards and more about who’s wearing what lip color and who dyed their hair. This year, the celebs with the best beauty looks ranged from musicians to actresses, and their big beauty moments ranged from cool hair color to bold lips and liner.
The 1920’s finger wave hair style was made modern with a low voluminous pony that showed off Shahidi’s natural curls. Celebrity makeup artist Emily Cheng created the golden goddess makeup look using Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eye Shadow in Poudre d’Or and Chanel Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in Khaki Dore. Dewy skin, glossy lips and natural bushy brows finished the rest of the face.
The lady in red’s metallic red winged eyeliner was smoked out on the lower lash line and topped off with swarovski red crystals. Hudgens makeup artist, Allan Avendano, used Christian Louboutin Luminous Ink Liner in Rougelouboutin, a vibrant red liquid liner to create the statement cat eye. The look was finished off with a Charlotte Tilbury nude lipstick.
Makeup artist Patrick Ta was inspired by Munn’s multicolored minidress to create her look. He kept the makeup subtle with bronzey eyes and berry lips to compliment her floral dress. Ta mixed two deep berry Chanel shades (Chanel Rouge Allure Intense Long-wear Lip Colour in Ultraberry and Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres Precision Lip Definer in Seduction) to create the perfect berry lip.
Nicki’s two-toned hair was the standout haircolor of the show. The extremely long Cher-inspired hairstyle was parted down the middle to section off half the hair in a dusty rose hue, and the other half a platinum blonde. The locks were all about length, hanging past her butt down to her knees. Hairstylist Tokyo Stylez created the sleek style of her candy colored hair.
