On February 10th, Christian Siriano premiered his Fall 2018 Collection during New York Fashion Week. What is so significant about this show was that it was Christian Siriano’s 10th anniversary New York Fashion Week.
Wouldn’t you think that 10 years worth of brand work needs to be celebrated with a glorious fashion show? I think yes!
Ashley Graham starts off the show with a bang in bold red attire. Other celebrities that also rocked the runway were Danielle Brooks and even Selma Blair.
With his brand, Siriano has done more for women of all colors and sizes than most designers ever will. Some of the celebrities he’s dressed are Solange, Christina Hendricks, Laverne Cox, and Cardi B.
According to The Cut, “His influence is abundantly clear in the changing the face of the red carpet, but he’s also changing how women envision themselves in clothing, making even the most glamorous pieces feel appropriate for any woman who just enjoys getting dressed up.”
In an interview with The Cut, Siriano explains that for this collection he didn’t want to show an “archive show” even if it’s his 10th anniversary. “It’s still very new, but I wanted to have elements from my early beginnings,” said Christian.
The Cut also asked about his efforts in trying to keep a “spirit of joy” in his shows, since it “seems to be a lost emotion during Fashion Week.” Siriano responded “I want the models to feel good in the clothes, and the audience feels that and it’s nice to see that.”
Christian Siriano has been known for his many years of work with showing the world that “celebrities of all shapes and sizes can look and feel beautiful in designer wear.” Many people are looking forward to see what he has in store for the future.
