A Beginner’s Guide to Love Sex, & Magic

As Leo season comes to an end, I want to take a moment to talk about an area of magic that can bring Leo’s fiery passion well into the next season and beyond. The topic? Sex magic. Often misunderstood, both sex and magic are taboo topics—the combination can be straight up shocking. This article, meant to inform and empower, will touch on the misconceptions and basics of sex magic.

Before we get into the article, I want to note that consent is absolutely necessary for any sexual activity, ever. That’s a given. Also, just like magic, sex is an intimate experience that requires mindfulness and care, and should be taken seriously. Please make sure to practice safely: use protection, set boundaries, and be considerate of yourself and your partner.

Just like moon, color, and sigil magic, sex magic is just that: another form of magic. No, it is not love magic—it will not make someone fall in love with you, but it does have a way of strengthening your intimacy and confidence levels with your partner and yourself.

Sex magic uses the momentum of physical energy to manifest a desired outcome within your life. As well as manifesting life changes, sex magic is a wonderful way to strengthen bonds with your partner and help you find comfort within your own body. Of course, you do not necessarily need another person—you can absolutely practice alone with just your body and your mind. Manifesting your desires with your very own body is an incredible thing!

If you are using sex magic to manifest something, you should set your intention beforehand. It can be absolutely anything—from manifesting a new job to releasing anxiety. All kinds of magic can be combined, so if you want to combine this with the power of the moon, you can manifest something under the waxing moon, and release something under the waning moon. You can also combine sex magic with sigils, or color magic by personalizing bed sheets and candles to match your intention(s).

Surrounding yourself with crystals is also another great way to connect by using their energy. For example, if you want to manifest confidence, you might surround yourself with crystals, such as carnelian, orange and honey calcite, sunstone, unakite, rose quartz, or tigers eye to help connect to the heart and solar plexus chakras (the solar plexus is our personal power center and stimulating it builds confidence), which promotes self love. The color yellow also promotes confidence, so you might have yellow sheets and candles, as well.

Again, this is an advanced form of magic and should be taken seriously! Drink lots of water, clear your mind, and set clear intentions. Most of all, enjoy the act and the power that it provides!
