Winter has finally come – and with it brings the new Drop Dead UK and HBO Game of Thrones apparel line, available for purchase beginning November 2017. Announced back on August 28th, this collaboration is from the same minds that brought you their 2016 Rouge One collection, band merchandise for UK musical group Bring me the Horizon, and many other alternative partnerships with companies such as Sega.
The line explores the DD UK brand’s signature “grunge-meets-streetwear” style with motifs from the Emmy award-winning series, including house words, sigils and other symbolic references to events that occur both in the book and on-screen. The most prevalent symbol incorporated in the line was of the Stark Family’s house animal, the direwolf, followed by the Targaryen Dynasty’s three-headed dragon.
Still, the items for sale are a massive departure from anything that would be worn on the streets of King’s Landing, but maybe would not be amiss amongst the likes of the Night’s Watch or the Free Folk.
The line was headed by Bring Me the Horizon frontman and long term creative contributor, Oli Sykes. He was not only a stylistic muse for the clothing company on this line specifically, but also has been quoted as being a long time super fan of the HBO series. Other BMTH members have contributed as models for the line and with Sykes have been promoting avidly on Instagram, Twitter, and the Drop Dead website.
This is the third collaboration between Sykes and DDUK – the first two being merchandised apparel for their 2013 Sempiternal and 2015 That’s the Spirit albums.
All items of the Game of Thrones line are currently available at the Drop Dead Sheffield and London locations, as well as their online store, though many pieces have already sold out for the time being.
